Just nu är Canvas inte tillgängligt.
Lärplattformen Canvas är just nu helt nere och går inte att komma åt. Detta gäller inte bara Lunds universitet utan lärosäten i stora delar av världen. Just nu har vi ingen information om när Canvas kommer att vara tillgängligt igen.
Situationen är ovanlig och vi vill lugna både studenter och lärare med att ingen ska missgynnas till exempel när det gäller inlämningar, examinationer eller tillgång till kursmaterial.

Om du som student påverkas av att du inte kommer åt material eller inte kan lämna in uppgifter, ta kontakt med din lärare. Du kan hitta din lärares kontaktuppgifter genom att söka på personen på din institutions webbplats.
Det här gäller för dig som lärare
Lärare som behöver nå sina studenter eller informera om förändringar kan använda alternativa kontaktvägar, till exempel e‑post, teams eller likande kommunikationskanaler. Här kan du vända dig till din lokala utbildningsadministratör som stöd.

Detta har hänt
Lärplattformen Canvas har haft en säkerhetsincident som berör flera lärosäten i Sverige och internationellt. Instructure som äger Canvas, har bekräftat att Lunds universitet är en av de berörda.
Instructure uppger att en kriminell aktör har haft obehörig åtkomst till vissa personuppgifter i Canvas. Enligt Instructure har intrånget stoppats och att de håller på att ta reda på vilka uppgifter som kan ha läckt.
Lunds universitet arbetar nu med att ta reda på vilka uppgifter som omfattas och vilka studenter och medarbetare som kan vara berörda. Vi samordnar arbetet inom universitetet och tillsammans med andra universitet och lärosäten, utifrån informationfrån Instructure.

Enligt Instructures nuvarande information kan uppgifter som namn, e‑postadresser, student‑ID och meddelanden i Canvas ha påverkats. Det finns inga indikationer på att lösenord, personnummer eller finansiell information har berörts
Vi samordnar arbetet inom IT‑säkerhet, informationssäkerhet, dataskydd och kommunikation och följer läget noggrant. Vi har anmält incidenten till Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten och polisen. Vi samarbetar också med andra universitet och lärosäten i Sverige. Universitetets IT‑system har fortsatt hög säkerhetsnivå, bland annat genom e‑postfilter som ska stoppa skadligt och vilseledande innehåll. Som alltid uppmanas du som student eller medarbetare att vara vaksam på försök till nätfiske och bedrägerier. Var uppmärksam om du blir kontaktad på ett oväntat sätt, till exempel via e-post eller meddelanden, och klicka inte på länkar eller lämna ut uppgifter om du är osäker på avsändaren.

Canvas is currently unavailable.
The Canvas learning platform is currently completely down and inaccessible. This issue affects not only Lund University, but also educational institutions in many other parts of the world. We currently have no information on when Canvas will be available again.
We understand that this is an unusual situation and would like to reassure both students and teaching staff that no one will be disadvantaged with regard to assignments, exams or access to course materials.
This applies to students
If you, as a student, are unable to access course materials or submit assignments, please contact your teacher. You can find your teacher’s contact information by searching for them on your department’s website.
This applies to teaching staff
Teaching staff who need to contact their students or inform them of changes can use alternative communication channels, such as email or Teams. If you need assistance, please contact your local programme administrator.
This happened
The Canvas learning platform has experienced a security incident affecting several higher education institutions in Sweden and internationally. Instructure, the company that owns Canvas, has confirmed that Lund University is one of the institutions affected.
Instructure states that a malicious actor has gained unauthorised access to certain personal data in Canvas. According to Instructure, the breach has been stopped and they are currently investigating what data may have been leaked.
Lund University is currently working to determine what type of data is concerned and which students and staff may be affected. We are coordinating efforts within the University and with other universities and higher education institutions, based on information from Instructure.

If you are or have been a student or member of staff at Lund University, this may affect you. At present, there is no detailed information as to who might be affected.
According to the information currently available from Instructure, data such as names, email addresses, student IDs and messages in Canvas may have been affected. There is no indication that passwords, personal identity numbers or financial information have been compromised.
We are coordinating work in the areas of IT security, information security, data protection and communications, and are monitoring the situation closely. We have reported the incident to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection and the Police. We are also collaborating with other universities and higher education institutions in Sweden. The University’s IT systems continue to maintain a high level of security, which includes email filters designed to block harmful and deceptive content. We will update this webpage with new information as soon as we know more.
As always, we urge you, as a student or member of staff, to be on the lookout for phishing attempts and scams. Be on your guard if you are contacted in an unexpected way, for example via email or messages, and do not click on any links or disclose any personal details if you are unsure about the sender.
