Abstract

Citizen influence and government accountability are central aspects of a vibrant democracy. But both require fact based insights to societal development. In open societies, there is often good access to public data, but it has so far been quite complicated to analyse data based on one's own questions.

During the seminar, we will show how the Jupyter Notebooks software (a platform which uses generative AI) can enable almost anyone to analyse open data according to their questions and needs. This type of software has the potential to enable NGOs, advocacy organizations, journalists, and researchers to utilize publicly available data in more efficient ways in order to support their goals.
