Presentation skills for researchers: Make your research clear, engaging and accessible
A workshop for researchers who want to develop their ability to present research in a clear, engaging and accessible way for a broad audience.
How can complex research be made relevant, clear and engaging for an audience beyond your own field?
Lund University Outreach Academy invites researchers to an interactive workshop with Anders Sahlman, presentation expert and communication advisor at Melker Media AB. The workshop is aimed at researchers who want to develop their presentation skills and gain practical tools for communicating research in a popular science context.
During the workshop, participants will work on how to build a clear and engaging presentation, formulate a strong main message and adapt their research for a broader audience.
The workshop will cover topics such as:
- How to place your research in a wider context
- How to formulate a clear main message – “the big idea”
- How to use dramaturgy in a research presentation
- How to adapt content, language and structure for a popular science audience
- How to make your presentation clearer, more relevant and more engaging
The workshop combines short introductions with reflection and practical exercises.
